Anastasia Cossitt Harrison “the Grand Duchess,” left this world February 5, 2016, after a magisterial reign over Bon Air, Bluemont, Petersburg, the Outer Banks, Charlottesville and home again to Richmond.
She was preceded in death by parents, Dick and Mary Cossitt.
Anastasia leaves to mourn her loss a daughter, Anna Katherine Harrison and her fiancé, Jeremy Tooley; adored grandchildren, Sara, Justin, Savanna and Julianna; her brothers, Dwight and his wife, Jude, Hamilton, Nicholas; her sisters, Theodosia and her husband, Maurizio, Cassandra, Macaria and her husband, Bob, Octavia and her husband, Ted; and a host of devoted family and friends.
Anastasia loved working with friends, artists and patrons at the McGuffey Art Center in Charlottesville.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, Virginia with the Rev. Mike Alley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McGuffey Art Center, 201 Second Street NW, Charlottesville, VA 22902.
