Blanche Elizabeth Likens
Blanche Elizabeth Likens, 90, of Stanardsville, VA died on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. She was born on October 20, 1922 in Virginia to the late Ursher and Grace Breeden Longley.
Mrs. Likens was a very dedicated homemaker who devoted all of her time to her family. She was a wonderful cook and loving wife, mother and grandmother who will truly be missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina Likens of Stanardsville, her niece, Donna Thacker and her husband, Philip of Barboursville, her sister, Margaret Watson of Ruckersville, two grandchildren, Marc Williams of Stanardsville and Jacqui Stull of PA and three great grandchildren, Corinne, Brianna and Lilly.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Likens and her siblings, Dorothy Roberts, Alma Longley and Carl Longley.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Roi Savai’inaea officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McGaheysville, VA.
