Carol Sue Shifflett

August 13, 1940 — September 14, 2021

Carol Sue Shifflett, 81, passed away peacefully in her home on September 14th, 2021. She was born on August 13, 1940, and lived in Greene County, Virginia for all of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, William, and Kathleen Morris.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Harold R. Shifflett Sr.; two sons, Harold Shifflett Jr. (Rebecca), and William Shifflett (Penny); four grandchildren, Brandi Boggs, Trinity Shifflett (Kaytee Lamb), Ashtyn Shifflett, and Ryan Shifflett; four great-grandchildren, Addison Locke, Hunter Shifflett, Alyssa Locke, and Grace Shifflett; a close friend, Jane Bishop; and many more loved relatives and friends. 

Carol Sue was a kind-hearted, caring wife, mother, Nanny, and friend. She loved spending time with her family, especially all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They never failed to keep a smile on her face. She retired after 30+ years from Badger Powhatan where she made lifelong friendships. She always enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets. You could always find her in her recliner talking on the phone or enjoying her wrestling matches. Her greatest love was being with her family who will always cherish her deeply. Carol Sue will be missed by so many loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021, from 6-8 PM at Ryan Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at Holly Memorial Gardens on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 12:30 PM.
