Celestine Berry Church

Celestine Berry Church, 66, of Earlysville, VA passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania. She was born on October 8, 1950 in Charlottesville, VA to the late Fred and Dorothy (Boyd) Berry of Madison, VA.

For about 30 years Mrs. Church dedicated her time to Scouts. She helped establish her son, Kevin’s, Boy Scout Troop, Troop 102. Since then she has been involved in many different levels of Scouting. She was proud to have her grandchildren active in Scouts.

In addition to scouts, Celestine also dedicated her time to the Monticello Garden Club. Her dear friend, Ann Lacy introduced Celestine to the Garden Club over 20 years ago. She willingly served in many leadership positions throughout her time with the club. At the time of her passing, she was their current club president.

Throughout her life she dedicated her time to serving and loving others. She helped to lead her daughters Brownie and Girl Scout Troop. She made baked goods for teachers at Broadus Wood and Culpeper Christian School. She enjoyed spending time with her friends in the Red Hat Ladies Society.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Church; children, Eric W. Berry and his wife, Angela, Regenia Frazier and her husband, Michael and Wendy Church; siblings, Mason Berry and Imogene Morris and her husband, Steve; and grandchildren, Jennifer Rohde, Tristan Rohde, Kevin Frazier, Adrian Ellis and Erik Campbell.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Church and sister-in-law, Lois Berry.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Ryan Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Ivy Creek Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to Cub Scout Pack 75, c/o Michelle McCarthy, 535 Stonefield Circle, Earlysville, VA 22936 &/or Monticello Garden Club, c/o Anne Eisenhardt, 1287 Still Meadow Ave., Charlottesville, VA 22901-6208.
