David Lee Collier “Runt”
David Lee Collier “Runt”, 55, of Ruckersville, VA passed away on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Hospice House of Charlottesville, VA.
He was born on November 12, 1958 in Charlottesville, VA to Alice “Emogine” Collier of Ruckersville and the late Dennie Collier.
David was employed for many years for Crouse Hinds and Badger Powhatan. He loved to fish and was a diehard fan of the UVA Cavaliers, Dallas Cowboys and Dale Earnhardt.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his siblings, Faye Smith and her husband, Randy, Charles Collier and his wife, Susie, Donnie Collier and his companion, Faye Shifflett, Betty Repass and her husband, Arnold and Michael Collier and his wife, Cathy and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968 with Rev. John Shifflett and Rev. Lee Lawson officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Mt. Paran Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff at the Emily Couric Cancer Center at UVA and Dr. Tri Le who not only provided medical services but generously offered his friendship as well. Additionally the family would like to thank the Hospice House for their care of David and hospitality to the family.
