David McGee Taylor

David McGee Taylor, 63, of Earlysville, left this world on Saturday, October 25, 2025. He was born on July 15, 1962. David was the son of the late Irving Green Taylor and Pauline Nichols Taylor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Taylor, and sisters, Karen Johnston and Janet Ennis.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Betty Jean Shifflett Taylor; his son, Robby Taylor, and his wife, Sandra, and their two boys, Logan and Brandon Taylor, all of Washington, Utah; and one brother, Irvin Taylor of Charlottesville.

David was a good person. He was a hard worker his entire life. He remodeled homes until he became ill and could no longer work. In 2016, David and Betty got baptized. David was happy that he did, and now his family rejoices knowing that he is in heaven, free from all pain and illness.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Batten Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Sholes Family Cemetery located on Liberty Loop in Stanardsville, with Pastor Johnny Heartless officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to help cover funeral expenses. All donations can be made in person or by phone to Batten Funeral Home. Donations cannot be made through the mail.
