Donna Marie Krynitsky

Donna Marie Krynitsky of Barboursville, Virginia passed away on June 14, 2023, at her home. She was 58 years old.

Donna was born on April 15, 1965, in Washington D.C. to Irene Yvonne Wood (née Harris) and Barry Williams. The oldest of 4 children, Donna was fiercely protective of her younger siblings. She was exceedingly compassionate and generous, and loved helping others.

She met her husband, Joe, when she was 16 years old, and they were inseparable from the start. Their relationship was strongly based in companionship, and they loved to spend as much time together as possible – fishing, hunting, traveling, and spending time with close friends. Later in life, they loved lazy afternoons playing cornhole together in the yard and admiring their garden. Last year, the empty nesters adopted a pair of Great Pyrenees puppies to raise together. Much of their recent days were spent walking and playing with the pups – Joe will find great comfort in continuing to care for Donna’s dog, Bear, in the years to come.

Throughout her life, she valued her time on the Greene County Rescue Squad, worked as a substitute teacher at her children’s school, and later as the assistant art teacher. Though she accomplished many things, she was most proud of being a mom and a homemaker. She loved her children deeply and centered her life around them – baking with them, teaching them to sew, attending their sporting events, and ensuring no detail was missed for every birthday party.

The beach was her happy place, and she made many beautiful memories there with her family throughout her lifetime. Collecting seashells on early morning beach walks was her favorite activity – a tradition she carried on with her grandchildren.

Donna is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Joseph Krynitsky, and her four children: Jennifer Krynitsky (John Salidis), Sarah (Christopher) Edens, Leah (Michael) Roach, and Joseph Krynitsky. She is also survived by her mother, Irene Yvonne Wood, her brother Sean Williams, and her sister Michelle Hahn. Additionally, Donna leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Genevieve, Elias, Landon, Sienna, Ella, Cohen, Ada, Joshua, Madelyn, and Olivia.

Donna was preceded in death by her father Barry Williams and her sister Bari Pado.

The family will be holding a memorial service on Saturday, June 24th, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Saint Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Orange, Virginia for anyone that wishes to pay their respects.
