Doris Jean Crawford

November 16, 1957 — November 22, 2025

Doris Jean Crawford, 68, of Ruckersville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on November 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on November 16, 1957, to Rozelia Snow Shifflett and the late Leabert Gordon Shifflett, Sr., Doris grew into a woman known for her quiet strength, deep devotion to her family, and the gentle, steady presence she carried through every season of her life.

Doris’s life was shaped by the bonds she held dear. She faced her share of loss with grace, including the passing of her father; her brothers, Richard Shifflett and Leabert Shifflett, Jr.; and her daughter-in-law, Cindy Shifflett. Through every hardship, Doris remained rooted in love, finding purpose in caring for those around her and cherishing every moment spent with family.

Those who were blessed to share in Doris’s life will remember her as a devoted wife to her husband, Curtis Crawford, and a loving sister to Tommy Shifflett and Ann Knight. She was a proud and nurturing mother to Richard Daughtry, Lyle Daughtry (Michelle Fincham), Bobby Daughtry (Candice Treadway), and Camilla Sandridge, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.

Her heart only grew fuller as her family expanded. Doris treasured her grandchildren—Treyquon Anderson (Brittany Parson), Dana Shifflett, Desiray Shifflett, Shane Shifflett, Isaiah Taylor, Jeremiah Taylor, Khaleesi Daughtry, Elijah Daughtry, Jordan Daughtry, Jayden Daughtry, Jamari Daughtry, Jakobe Daughtry, and Anaya Daughtry—and delighted in the bright smiles of her great-grandchildren, Jace Perdue and Astoria Anderson. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and each carries forward a piece of her kindness, warmth, and resilience.

In her final chapter, Doris was surrounded with unwavering love and care. The family extends their deepest gratitude to Trey Anderson and Brittany Parson, whose compassion and dedication as her caregivers brought comfort, dignity, and peace until the very end.

A celebration of Doris’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and reflect on a life that touched many.
