Edward Morris, 74, of Stanardsville went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.
Edward was born December 31, 1939 in Greene County. He was the son of the late Waymon Morris and Madie Collier Morris.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Morris; one daughter Rita Adcock and her husband, Billy of White Hall; one son, Don Morris and his wife, Staci of Troy; five grandchildren, Daniel Adcock, Kurt Adcock, Tyler Morris, Hali Morris and Zachary Morris; three sisters, Pauline Conley and her husband, Edward, Christine Branham and D.J. Lamb and her husband, Allen; six sister-in-laws, Dolly Morris, Mary Lamb, Hester Lamb, Cora Lawson, Lottie Lawson and her husband Daryl and Lois Mundie; one brother-in-law, John Roach and his wife, Barbara; and many other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Shifflett and a brother, Early Morris.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 P.M. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Ryan Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lydia Church Cemetery.
