Edwin “Jack” B. Haney, 95, of Stanardsville passed away peacefully May 4, 2018 at Grace Health and Rehab.
Jack was born July 12, 1922 in Greene County. He was the last surviving child of the late George Asbury Haney and Sarah Haseltine Powell Haney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Deloris Haney Parrott; three sisters, Frances H. Sims, Beulah H. Garrison and Madeline H. Salony; four brothers, Everette R. Haney, Ennis Haney, Oval Haney and George “Pete” Haney.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Lucille Baugher Haney; son, Edwin “Pete” Asbury Haney; daughter, Jacqueline Haney Morris and her husband, Keith all of Stanardsville; son-in-law, Donald Parrott of Ruckersville; three grandchildren, Stephanie Parrott Haraway and her husband, Keith of Lexington, Russell S. Parrott and his wife, Heather of Ruckersville, Damian Morris and his wife, Priscilla of Orange; five great-grandchildren, Darren Woodward and his wife, Faith of Harrisonburg, Jordan and Laci Parrott of Ruckersville and Kolby and Tristan Morris of Orange; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends both in Virginia and North Carolina who loved him dearly.
Jack worked many different jobs throughout the years, but his love was for his “Arrowhead Farm.” His farm was his legacy for his children and grandchildren to continue working. Through the years, host of children, teens and family have enjoyed coming to visit and have fun at the farm.
Jack was a member of Westover United Methodist Church and a member of the Piedmont Stella Masonic Lodge for over 70 years.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, Virginia with Pastor Mark Holder officiating. Interment will follow at Stanardsville Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
