Elizabeth Yancey McIlhenny Kane, 46, of Ruckersville passed away peacefully Friday, December 25, 2015 at her home after a brief illness.
Yancey was born October 13, 1969 in New Orleans, Louisiana, daughter of John Boyd McIlhenny and Kim Brown McIlhenny.
She attended high school and college in Lewisburg, West Virginia. She was loved by family and friends, particularly for her tremendously kind and generous spirit and her ineffable sense of humor.
She is survived and deeply missed by her husband, David B. Kane; her parents; brothers William W. McIlhenny of Roanoke, Virginia and John M. McIlhenny of Orlando, Florida; her sister and brother-in-law, Sara Daniels McIlhenny and Thomas J. Donohue, MD; extended family, many friends, and her beloved Siamese cat, “Maliwan.”
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Friday, January 15, 2015 at the Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, 3355 Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
