Ellen Clay Carter

Ellen Marie Clay Carter, 62, of Ruckersville, Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday April 14, 2019.

She was born to the late Richard and Shirley Clay on July 4, 1956.

She is survived by her three brothers; Paul and his wife, Debbie of Ruckersville, Doug and his wife, Kelly of Stanardsville, Richard of Ruckersville; one sister Diane Knight of Barboursville ;one niece Sabrina Mawyer and her husband, Cameron; three nephews Dusty Clay, Alex Knight and Cody Clay; and one great niece Adaline Mawyer; and many other family members and friends.

Although she never had any children of her own she babysat many children and taught Sunday School at Ruckersville Baptist Church for many years. She was a familiar face at the Burger King Convenience store in Ruckersville for 14 years and then the BP gas station at Airport Road, Charlottesville where she looked forward to greeting her regular customers every day.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Ryan Funeral Home with the Rev. Kyle Clements officiating.
