Ellie Frances Staats, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 16, 2012.
Ellie was born January 29, 1925 in Greene County, Virginia, daughter of the late Cloudy and Maggie Shifflett Lamb.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Campbell; two brothers, Lawrence Lamb and Hollis Lam; son-in-law, Al Berry.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Albert Staats; three daughters, Betty Berry, Peggy Johnson and her husband, Owen, Linda Taylor and her husband, J.L.; nine grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville. Interment will follow at Stanardsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the Ryan Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
