Elnora Morris Powell

Elnora Morris Powell, 87, of Stanardsville, Virginia passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital.

Elnora was born January 16, 1935 in Charlottesville, VA.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William W. Powell; her parents, Lewis and Mary Morris.

Elnora is survived by her loving and special daughter, Sherri Powell; and special niece, Donna Powell; as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Elnora was blessed with special friends and relatives in her life, Robin Clore, Melissa Estes, Christine Eppard, Nora Dillon (Edwin), James Powell (Joyce), Meredith Powell, Jeff Morris (Laurie), D.J. Lamb (Allen), Bruce Detamore (Kristin) and Spencer Morris (Candia).

She retired from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office after 22 years as a dispatcher. Elnora was a proud supporter of law enforcement and their organizations.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Friday, February 11, 2022 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Ryan Funeral Home with Wendell Lamb and Eddie Deane officiating.  Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
