Eric James Petersen
Eric James Petersen, 72, of Stanardsville VA passed away at his residence on Sunday, November 13, 2016. He was born on April 24, 1944 in San Jose CA to the late Leland and Pauline Petersen.
Eric served our Country in the US Navy from 1962 to 1967. After graduating from San Francisco State University, Eric served in the US Army from 1978 to 1987. He also worked at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and the Immigration and Naturalization Services, later DHS, until his retirement in 2006.
Eric loved reading history and travelling, most recently on river cruises in Europe and a trip to England, Scotland, and Wales.
He is survived by his loving wife, Katherine Thisdell Petersen; brother, Leland Petersen; cousin, Candy Stonehouse; brother and sister in-laws, Jay and Julie Thisdell, Margot and Sal Bologna, John and Amy Thisdell, and Roberta and Earl Vowell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
