Eva F. Collier, 99, of Stanardsville passed away surrounded by her family Saturday, February 24, 2018.
Eva was born July 30, 1918 in Greene County, daughter of the late Willie Collier and Mattie Collier.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley C. Howell and her husband, George of Hernando, MS; daughter-in-law, Kathleen S. Collier of Stanardsville; four grandchildren, Scott Collier and his wife, Susan of Lynchburg, Brandon Collier and his wife, Vicktoria of Wolftown; Jeffrey Howell and his wife, Kim of Bartlett, TN, and Wendy Collier of Quinque, VA; seven great grandchildren, Crystal Collier-Ford, Ashley Michael, Dylan Collier, Justin Brown, Logan Brown, Jared Howell and Kitiara Howell; seven great-great grandchildren; nieces, Linda Loveless and Beverly Collier; and special friends, Becky Harlow and Carole Sue Lam.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Houston Collier; son, Gene Collier; and brothers, Amos Collier and Willard Collier.
Eva was a resident of Greene County for 99 ½ years. She was a lifelong member of Swift Run Baptist Church. Eva was employed by Blakey and Company, Collier Brothers and most recently Dollar General Store.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Holder officiating. Interment will follow at Ruckersville Cemetery.
