Gary “Hook” Lee Halterman
Gary Lee Halterman, better known as “Hook” passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015.
He was born May 20, 1955, son of the late Luther Halterman and Grace Kidd.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Elza Kidd; brother, Roger “Butch” Halterman; stepsister, Elizabeth Bottenfield and her husband, Roy; and sister-in-law, Linda Halterman.
Gary is survived by his wife, Wanda Halterman of Ruckersville; four children, Gary Luther Halterman and his wife, Michelle, Julie Allen and her husband, Fred all of Stanardsville, twin sons, Brian and Brandon Halterman of Ruckersville; five grandchildren who he adored, Gabriel, Isabell, Kathryn, Ethan and Peyton; two brothers, Harold Halterman and his wife, Renee, and Johnny Halterman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gary leaves behind many friends that thought the world of him. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and horseshoe player.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Judy Shifflett and Mark Borrelli for always visiting and checking on Gary. The family would also like to thank Grace Health and Rehab and Hospice of the Piedmont for their care and support of Gary.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, Virginia.
