Gary H. “Bo” Martin, 67, of Ruckersville passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Bo was born on August 27, 1948 in Charlottesville, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Martin; a step-father, Jim Tindall and an aunt who meant the world to him, Nannie Martin.
Bo is survived by his best friend, Patsy Martin; two daughters, Missy Martin and her companion, Darren Good, Erin Lam and her husband, Jason; his mother, Elsie “Bickie” Tindall; a brother, Steve Martin and his wife, Mary; step-children, Sarah Morris and Cristi Raymond; grandchildren, Lexi, Morgan and Brady Lam and expected granddaughter, Lily; and many other friends and family that were very special to him.
Bo graduated from Albemarle High School and attended the University of Virginia.
He retired from Sprint after many years of service. He was a member of the Ruckersville Volunteer Fire Department and served in the Army Reserves. Bo enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, motorcycles, spending time at the Outer Banks and was an avid University of Virginia fan.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Stanardsville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chuck Winner officiating. At 7:00 P.M. there will be a time of fellowship for friends and family at the church.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of the University of Virginia Medical Center for their excellent care during Bo’s stay.
