Gary Daniel Wood

Gary Daniel Wood, age 70, passed away on October 19, 2023, at his home in Greene County.

Gary was born August 22, 1953, the son of the late Whitler Sims Wood Sr. and Agnes Ellen Wood of Albemarle County.

Gary leaves behind to cherish his memory a loving son, Michael Wood; a loving daughter, Amy Morris; and her husband, Tim (Dinky) Morris; a brother, Gregory Wood; sister, Jane Towler; and her husband, Michael Towler.

Gary also leaves behind his grandchildren, Courtnee Hoveyy, Devin Morris, Lauren Morris, Jared Morris, Jacob Morris, Olivia Morris, and Liberty Chambers, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was a simple man who loved his family and his music. He could be found many days in his basement, picking away at his guitar.

Amy and Michael want to thank the many people who have helped them through this trying and difficult time.

They loved their father deeply.

All services will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Batten Funeral Home of Ruckersville, Virginia.
