Gertrude Frances Gehring, 96, of Reva, VA passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018.She was born on May 1, 1922 in New York, daughter of the late William Francis McCarthy and Dora Gertrude Carbino McCarthy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington Gehring and two sons, George Gehring and Gilbert Gehring.
She is survived by her children, Gerald Gehring, Gary Gehring and his wife, Edwina, Greg Gehring and his wife, Rose, Thomas Gehring and his companion, Colleen and Geraldiene Brodis; nephew, Francis McCarthy and his wife, Tina, 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to UVA Culpeper Hospital and Hospice of the Piedmont for their wonderful care.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Cemetery, Rapidan Rd., Rapidan, VA., with Leonard Willett officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Gertrude’s memory to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway Suite 300 Charlottesville, VA 22911.
