Gordon Eugene Anderson

Gordon Eugene “Gene” Anderson was called away from this Earth on Friday, April 5, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles Joseph Anderson, Sr.; mother, Helena Exelda Gonyea Anderson Fowler; brothers, Charles Joseph Anderson, Jr. and Dale W. Anderson, Sr.; and granddaughter, Alyssa Lynn Preston.

Gene is survived by his adult children, Jessica Preston, Victoria Anderson, Allie House (Tony), Christopher Zyderveld (Tabitha), and his step-son, Michael Tyndall; three young children, Cheyenne, Chase and Houston Anderson; grandchildren, Robert and Makayla Preston and Colton Zyderveld; along with several nieces and nephews, Dale W. Anderson (Sharra), Chris Anderson (Becky), Timmy Anderson (Alicia), Marc Anderson (Paige), Emily Anderson, Jordan Anderson, Johnny Anderson (Andrea), Missy Anderson, Teresa Handle, Ben Miles and Charlie Miles; two brothers, Karl Anderson (Debbie) and Michael Anderson (Patricia); sister, Terry Athey.

He was a man of many words and was a great pillar of the community where he touched many lives. Whether you knew him or not he always had something about him that people liked; from his joking personality or sitting and watching football games together supporting his local team the Dragons, coaching or just chasing pests out of your house. For many who knew the man that Gene was, no words could ever express the loss we share.

Please join us as we lay him to rest at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Stanardsville Cemetery. Immediately following the service, there will be a celebration of his life in his memory at Stanardsville Volunteer Fire Department where we can come together to celebrate, to grieve, and to remember Gordon Eugene Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a go fund me page to support Gene’s minor children in their time of need.
