Gussie Inez Tibbs
Gussie Inez Tibbs, 94, of Ruckersville, VA departed her earthly home and took her flight to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 18, 2012. She was born on May 22, 1918 to the late William Bryant and Mattie Martha Corner.
Mrs. Tibbs was a member and usher of Rock Hall Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, babysitting, cooking and sewing. Above all she loved making others happy and being with her family. Her sweet spirit and wet kisses will always be remembered.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Tibbs, one brother, Bruce Bryant, two sons, William Tibbs and Edward Bryant and one great grandchild, Destin Jackson.
She leaved to cherish her memory, four daughters, Evangelist Frances Brown of Washington, DC, Gloria Early, Lisa Bryant and Laverne Strother all of Ruckersville, VA, one son-in-law, Maxwell Strother, 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Rock Hall Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Tibbs Family Cemetery.
