Harven Isaac Shifflett

Harven Isaac Shifflett, age 77, of Free Union, died in a tragic fire at his home along Simmons Gap Road, December 12, 2015, along with his wife of 51 years, Mary Elizabeth Shifflett. He was born December 18, 1937 and was the son of Henry and Evaline (Sister) Shifflett.
He married Mary Elizabeth Yoder of Free Union on November 19, 1964, and they leave behind one son, Harlen Christopher Shifflett of Tacoma, Washington; two grandchildren, Michael Daniel and Brittany Nicole Shifflett; sister-in-law, Helen Shifflett; a special caregiver and friend and 14 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings, Johnny Shifflett and his wife, Velma, Lonnie Shifflett, Charlie Shifflett and his wife, Evelyn, Virginia Shifflett Sullivan McCowen and her husband, Glen and David Shifflett; and their dog, Rocky who was also lost in the fire.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Dyke Volunteer Fire Department, 9144 Dyke Road, Dyke, Virginia. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in their name to Faith Mission Home Fellowship, 3540 Mission Home Lane, Free Union, VA 22940 and/or Dyke Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 9, Dyke, VA 22935.
