Helen Marie Morris

Helen Marie Morris, 80, of Ruckersville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

Born on September 30, 1944, in Greene County, Virginia, Helen was the beloved daughter of the late Herman and Haley Margaret Conley Shifflett. She was a woman of quiet strength, enduring love, and deep devotion to her family. Helen’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering presence were the foundation of many lives, and her absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Gary Lee Morris, Nathan Jay Morris, and Vicki Catherine Morris; her siblings, Monte Shifflett, Rex Shifflett, and Geraldine Morris; and her grandchildren, Daniel Morris (Mandy), Joey Morris (Terry), Tyler Morris, Maggie Morris, Crystal Morris, Joshua Morris, Nichole Cowan (Jimmy), and Dustin Morris (Charmaine). She was preceded in death by her grandson, Justin Morris, who passed on July 6, 2010. Helen is also remembered by over 20 great-grandchildren and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Helen’s life was one marked by resilience, compassion, and an enduring faith. She will be remembered for her selfless love, her gentle heart, and her ability to make everyone feel at home in her presence.

A celebration of Helen’s life will be held at a later date to honor her legacy and the many lives she touched.
