Helen Virginia Morris, 91, of Dyke, passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 9, 1934, the daughter of the late George Mitchell and Betty Frye Morris. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Helen lived a life defined by generosity, warmth, and simple joys.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harmon Morris; her son, Jeff; her brothers Albert, Junior, John, and William; and her sisters Beatrice, Louise, Cornelia, and Mary.
Helen is survived by her children—Shelby (Steve), Noah Harmon (Katy), Sheila (Glen), Ronald, and Katina (Mike); her sister, Margaret; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride. She also held a special place in her heart for her nieces, Marie and Theresa, and a dear family friend, Joyce Knight. As well as a host of other cherished family and friends.
Helen was a homemaker. She filled her home with comfort, warmth, and cooking. She loved antiques and cherished her Saturday shopping adventures. At Christmastime, her home shined with the brightest and most beautiful lights in Bacon Hollow. Above all, she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the highlight of her days.
Helen leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and cherished family traditions that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A special Thank You to Dr. Bostic and all the MediHome Hospice nurses.
