Ida Gertrude White Beverly, 89, of Ruckersville passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Charlottesville Health and Rehab.

Gertrude was born August 20, 1923 in Covesville, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Henry J. White and Susie R. Morris White.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Frank Beverly; her daughter, Phyllis Beverly Smith; and her three brothers, Lee White, Irvin White, Belvin “Jack” White.

She is survived by her two sons, Shannon Beverly and his wife, Juanita of Rupert, West Virginia, Raymond Beverly and his wife, Gail of Moyock, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Gertrude retired from G.C. Murphy Department Store and was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Ryan Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Anderson and the Rev. Jim Lacey officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to extend a thank you to all the special caretakers in Gertrude’s life, Lorraine Meade, Joanne Gallihugh, Becky, Linda, Lena Gilbert, Homer and Mary Knighting, Brenda, Amber and the staff of Charlottesville Health and Rehab.
