Iler Margaret Morris, 81, of Earlysville passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at the Martha Jefferson Hospital.

Iler was born November 21, 1932 in Greene County. She was the daughter of the late Hezzie Morris and Virgie Mary Shifflett Morris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Elmer Morris, Cecil Morris, Winston Morris, Elbert Morris and Edith Morris.

Iler is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, John W. Morris; three sons, Jay Morris, David Morris and his wife, Theresa, Hezzie Morris and his wife, Donna; one daughter, Karen Lynne Davis and her husband, Mike; six sisters, Thelma Shaut, Linnie Shifflett and her husband, Charlie, Lula Garrison, Lucille Shifflett and her husband, Harmon, Corina Kincer and Muriel Simpson; nine grandchildren, Scotty, Victoria, Dana, Krystal, Joey, Ashley, Cody, Phillip and Crissy; 10 great grandchildren, Maddie, Luke, Brooklyn, Braelyn, Nathan, Anakin, Alanna, Drew, Alex and Sophia; and many other family members and friends.

Iler was employed at Blue Ridge School for 33 years. She loved sewing, spending time with family and had a smile that could light up the room. She was always thinking of others first and was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

The family would like to thank the staff of Martha Jefferson Hospital, Dr. John Davison and her CNA Angie Quarles for their love and compassion.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Church of the Brethren with Rev. C.C. Kurtz officiating.

Interment will be follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
