James Harold Crawford

James Harold Crawford, 70, of Ruckersville, VA passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Center for Acute Hospice Care in Charlottesville, VA. He was born on January 12, 1948 in Rockwall, TX to the late James and Helen Crawford.

Mr. Crawford proudly served our country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Collier Crawford; his children, James Brian Crawford and his wife, Anita and Melissa Lynn Dorsey and her husband, Jason; siblings, Gene Webster, Mickey Salinas, Mary Merritt, and Debra Faulkner; grandchildren, Morgan Courtney, Jazmyne Dorsey, Sydney Crawford, Shelby Crawford, Eliza Dorsey and RJ Crawford; two great grandchildren; a special aunt, Vernell Thomas; and special cousin, Mike Raines.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, John Crawford and James Tadlock.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Nortonsville Church of God, 1505 Simmons Gap Rd, Dyke, VA 22935, with Pastor David Allison officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to extend a special appreciation to UVA Medical staff at the Emily Couric Cancer Research Center, Hospice of the Piedmont and many friends and family that have extended their condolences.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Pkwy, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911 and/or Nortonsville Church of God, 1505 Simmons Gap Rd, Dyke, VA 22935.
