James Fred Johnson
James Fred Johnson, 87, of Barboursville, VA died on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at his residence. He was born on November 26, 1925 in Bedford, VA to the late James Elmer and Sarah Welch Johnson.
Mr. Johnson served our country in the United States Army and is a veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Louise Johnson and his children, Sue Ella Johnson Nance of Virginia Beach, Terry Fred Johnson of Bedford, Timothy Lee Johnson of Lynchburg, Mickey Mark Johnson of Moneta, Robert Lee McKinney of Bedford, Carol Sue Farish of Concord, Theresa Lynn Beach of Bedford, Rhonda Ann McKinney of Bedford and Donna Renee Saunders of Bedford.
Additional survivors include his siblings, Gwendolyn Johnson Campbell and Danny Lee Johnson of Bedford and thirteen grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor and his grandson, Isaac Johnson.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in his name to the National Memorial D-Day Foundation 106 East Main St. Bedford, VA 24523.
