Jean Taylor Griffin

Jean Taylor Griffin, 80, of Ruckersville, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 21, 2021.

Jean was born on January 17, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY and was daughter of the late Prince Taylor and Nancy Speights Taylor.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Griffin; son and daughter-in-law,, Derek and Sheneka Storey; daughter and son-in-law, Clifford and Dana Storey Waterman; stepdaughter, Trina Griffin; stepson, Shawn Griffin; brothers, Wilbur Taylor and Michael Taylor; sister, Jennifer Taylor; grandchildren, Naima Storey, Kahaleel Storey, Hanan DuVerney, Abijah DuVerney, Xavier Storey and Noah Storey;  step-grandchildren, Natima Brown, Arianna Griffin and Naeem Griffin; and many other family members and friends.

Jean had a career as a trading clerk on the floor of the NYSE before serving as a Pastor at Highland Church in NY and Sunday School teacher, Elder and Counselor for Covenant Church of God for many years. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Covenant Church of God, 1025 East Rio Road Charlottesville, VA 22901 with Dr. Dolores Carr officiating.  Interment will follow at 12:30 at Ruckersville Community Cemetery.
