Jessie Knight, 95, of Mutton Hollow was the eldest of 17 children. He was born on December 18, 1918 in Stanardsville, VA to the late Allie Morris and Wilbur Knight.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two children, Winston and Velma Knight.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 66 years, Ruby Knight, his son, Samuel Knight and his daughter, Thelma Knight. Additional survivors include his grandchildren, Jessica Knight, Dionne Knight Conti, Tina Gaden, Sherry Knight, Ashley Gaines, Jayson Knight, Christopher Knight, and Shawn Knight, his great grandchildren, Brian Burkholder, Cayla Knight, Hanna Gaden, Abagail Gaden, Sidney Prickett and Arawyn Knight and his great-great grandchild, Bradley Burkholder.
Mr. Knight was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He worked hard all of his life and never let his disability bring him down. The legacy he leaves behind will always be remembered and will truly be missed.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Medi Home Health & Hospice and the Mount Hermon Mennonite Church congregation for all of your loving care and support.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Mount Hermon Mennonite Church.
Interment will follow in the Mount Hermon Church Cemetery.
