Judith Rose Wysong
Judith Rose Wysong, 51, of Stanardsville, VA, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at her residence. She was born on May 31, 1962, in Washington, D.C. to Marianne Wysong of Bethlehem, PA, and the late George K. Wysong.
Judy’s role in life was taking care of others, be they people or animals. She grew up in Miami, FL, where she spent many hours as a candy striper, an experience that led her to pursue a career in the medical field. Judy attended Barry University in Miami Shores and MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL, where she received her nursing degree. In 1988, she moved to Charlottesville to work as an Oncology Specialist Nurse at the University of Virginia hospital. A dedicated and caring nurse, Judy was also the most unselfish person in the world and an avid animal lover who would take in sick or injured animals and find homes for them after rehabilitation. She had a beautiful passion for writing poetry and enjoyed canoeing on the James River, traveling to Pennsylvania for music festivals, and meeting her friends at Durty Nelly’s Pub. Judy, our angel here on earth, we will miss you.
In addition to her mother, Judy is survived by her sisters, Patricia Wysong and Elizabeth Wysong, her brother George K Wysong III, and a host of numerous family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail in Ruckersville, VA 22968.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
