Karen Lucas Deane

Karen Lucas Deane, 62, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, at Augusta Hospital.

Born on July 2, 1964, in Charlottesville, Virginia, Karen was the beloved daughter of Agnes Maude Lucas and the late Kenneth Lucas. She was a devoted wife, loving daughter, caring sister, cherished aunt, and loyal friend whose kindness and compassion touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Lucas; her beloved son, Kenneth "Kenny" Lloyde Deane; and her sister, Kimberly Dinn.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Lloyde "Willie" Deane; her loving mother, Agnes Maude Lucas; her sister, Kathy Davis and her husband, Barry; her brother-in-law, Bob Dinn; her nieces, Ashley Dinn and Kaitlin Carlisle and her husband, Ryan; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Reagan, Mason, and Hayden Carlisle. She also leaves behind many special friends who loved her dearly and will forever cherish the memories they shared.

Karen was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ who loved the Lord and found strength, comfort, and hope in her faith throughout her life. She had a deep love for animals and a heart that was always open to those in need, whether they had two legs or four. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and caring nature made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She found joy in spending time with family and friends, sharing laughter, and creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Karen's warmth, compassion, unwavering faith, and unconditional love will be greatly missed, but the legacy of the life she lived and the love she gave will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

A graveside service to celebrate Karen's life will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holly Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to attend as they celebrate the life of a woman who was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
