Leabert Gordon Shifflett, Sr.

Leabert Gordon Shifflett, Sr. “Shorty” went home to be with the Lord on August 15, 2021 surrounded by his family.

He was born May 18, 1935, the son of the late Linwood and Rhoda Morris Shifflett.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Rozelia Snow Shifflett; daughters, Ann Knight Lawson, Doris Jean Crawford and husband, Curtis; son, Thomas “Tommy” Shifflett and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Gina Graham (Chad), TJ Shifflett (Meaghan), Derrick Shifflett, Trevis Shifflett (Kelsey), Richard Daughtry, Lyle Daughtry, Jeffrey Shifflett, Tiffany Shifflett (Justin), Jeremy Jackson, Tommy Shifflett (Hannah), BJ Daughtry, Camilla Sandridge, Jeremy Shifflett, Jey Shifflett, Jessi Rogers and Tracy Bizzarri; brother, Randolph Shifflett and wife, Joyce; 26 great-grandchildren and including two special great-grandsons, Mason Shifflett and Axel Shifflett; and a special great-granddaughter, Anna Graham, whom he adored.

In addition to his parents, Leabert was preceded in death by his sons, Leabert “Junior” Shifflett, Richard Linwood Shifflett and his son-in-law, Eugene Lawson, Jr.

Leabert enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to gospel music, watching wrestling and he loved old trucks. He loved working with his hands and was always ready to lend a helping hand for anything his family needed.  He will be greatly missed by those who love him.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, Virginia 22968 with Pastor Glenn Shifflett officiating.
