Lester Archer Morris, Sr.

Lester Archer Morris, Sr., 84, of Dyke, Virginia passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, at his home.

He was born October 5, 1938, the son of the late Lonnie Morris and Aroncia Crawford Morris.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon Morris and Rona Morris; and two sisters, Haselteen Shifflett and Arlene Morris.

Lester is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Maggie Morris; his children, Deborah Beasley (James) of Keswick, Virginia, Lester A. Morris, Jr. (Kathy) of Louisa, Virginia, Kenneth W. Morris, Sr. (Tammy) of Keswick, Virginia, David S. Morris (Denise) of Scottsville, Virginia, William Randolph Morris, Sr. (Gina) of Dyke, Virginia and Jamie L. Morris (Monica) of Louisa, Virginia; brother, Eddie Morris of Ruckersville, Virginia; sister, Wynonna Eubanks of Goochland, Virginia; 31 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Lester retired from the City of Charlottesville after many years of service.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, Virginia 22968.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 18, 2022, at Evergreen Church of the Brethren with Lester’s son, Pastor David Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
