Linwood Wayne Lamb

May 16, 1950 — September 9, 2021

Mr. Linwood “Wayne” Lamb, 71, of Greene County, VA went home to be with the Lord on September 8th, 2021 in his home surrounded by love and family. He has fought a long, hard battle with cancer and is no longer suffering in pain. Upon his diagnosis, he expressed to his wife, “I’m not afraid of dying, I just don’t want to leave my family behind.” Wayne was born on May 16th, 1950 in Charlottesville, Virginia to the late Linwood Angus Lamb and Reba Mae Meadows who he now is reunited with.

Left to cherish his memory are his mom, Doris T. Lamb; wife of 30 years, Barbara Annette Lamb; children, Susan Brooks and husband, Greg; Mike Lamb (Lelona), Logan Lamb (Ameigh), Megan Gibson and husband, Josh; and Kaytee Lamb (Trinity); grandchildren, Zeke Brooks, Zack Brooks, Cassi Brooks, and Grace Shifflett; sister, Louise Adkison (Gary); niece, Lisa Adkison (Andy); nephew, Bruce Adkison; uncles, George Lamb and wife, Connie; Graydon Lamb and wife, Marida; and many more relatives and special friends.

Wayne, also known as...Dad, Uncle Buster, Papa, Wide Open Wayne, and the Energizer Bunny, was a kind, devoted husband, father, Papa, and friend. Family meant everything to him, and he enjoyed every moment with them. He was such a hard worker and was always ready to lend a helping hand for anyone, even a stranger. He worked as an electrical and H.V.A.C contractor in his own company, Wayne’s Electric, for almost 40 years, and treated all of his employees like family. When he wasn’t working, you could find him riding his Harley-Davidson, playing his poker games, or watching the Nationals play. He enjoyed listening to rock music, especially ZZ Top. He was an outstanding man with such a big heart who could tell a great story and always cracked a joke, known as a, “Wayne Lamb knee slapper.”

Wayne will be missed by so many loving family and friends. Until we see you again, sweet Daddy of Mine.

The family would like to thank Medi Home Health and Hospice, with a special thank you to Dr. Brook Bostic, Caryn Marshall, and Kristen Hassan for all of their caring support.

Family Visitation will be held on September 12, 2021 between 6pm-8pm at Ryan’s Funeral Home- 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968.
