Lorraine Snow Meade
September 21, 1925 — January 31, 2017
Lorraine Snow Meade, 91, of Ruckersville, VA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the home of her daughter. She was born on September 21, 1925 in Dyke, VA to the late Eugene and Nora Knight Snow.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Jeanette), Calvin (Darlene), Sheree Frazier (Michael), Barry, Chris (Barbara Eppard) and April Brown (Glenn).
Additional survivors include her sister, Jo Anne Gallihugh; sister-in-law, Joyce Snow and daughter-in-law, Tracy Meade.
She is survived by nine grandchildren, Pam Lawson (Danny), Chastity Meade (Jeff Hall), David Meade, Calvin “Bino” Meade, Garrett Meade (Jenny), Candy Carpenter (Chad), Caleb Meade, John Meade and Norah Meade; Eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by Belinda Jarrell and Tressie Lamouroux.
Lola as she was often called is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were a large part of her life before and during her brief illness.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Benjamin Meade; great-granddaughter Neveah Meade and siblings, Arlene Lamb, Mary Snow, Wilmer Snow and Geneva Johnson.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Jane Shaw and the staff of Albemarle Square Family Healthcare for the excellent and professional care they provided throughout the years.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday, February 3, 2017 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren, 616 Cedar Grove Rd., Ruckersville, VA 22968, with Pastor Johnny Hawkins officiating.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
