Margaret Marie Jacobsen, 59, of Ruckersville, VA died in her sleep at her home after a long battle with lung disease and breast cancer. She was born on November 5, 1954 in Washington, DC to the late Dorothy Lee Stanton.

Margaret graduated from Frederick Douglas High School in Upper Marlboro, MD. She worked as an administrative assistant in a DC law firm, for the Defense Mapping Agency and in airline sales for group packages with Olympus Airlines and Thai Airways. During her time with the airline industry, Margaret traveled the world. Later, she spent a year in Hawaii soaking up the sun before returning to Alexandria, VA to work at the Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. She then transferred to become the Residency Coordinator for the OBGYN department at Georgetown University. She retired in 2005. In September 2007, she moved to Ruckersville, VA when her husband was transferred to work at the National Ground Intelligence Center in Charlottesville.

 She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Jacobsen, her sister, Tracy L. Stanton, her brother, Daniel W. Sillers and her step daughter, Sylviane N. Jacobsen.
