Marvin Lee Knight, Sr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Goldie Taylor Knight; and 12 siblings.

Marvin is survived by his daughters, Debra Johnson (Warren), Teresa Davis, Robin Lindsey (George), Sandy Yates (Dwayne); son, Marvin Lee Knight, Jr.; 3 brothers, Casper and Alton Knight of Stanardsville and Elvin Knight of Elkton; 2 sisters, Katherene Bramel and Lorene Simms of Charlottesville; 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.

Marvin never met a stranger. He loved old country music, the Yankees and spending time with his family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Batten Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Batten Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Deane officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Following the interment, there will be a time of fellowship at the Dyke Volunteer Fire Department.

The pallbearers for the service will be Albert Deane, Troy Knight, Dwayne Yates, Logan Yates, Christian Knight, and Warren Cason.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Medi Home Hospice.
