Maxine Mundie Shipp

Maxine Mundie Shipp, 77, of Ruckersville, VA passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. She was born on August 20, 1938 in Virginia to the late Alexander and Bernice Shifflett.
Mrs. Shipp retired from the University of Virginia in ITC with over 20 years of service.
She is survived by her husband, William H. Shipp, Jr.; her children, Vicky Smith and Chris Mundie; 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Coleman Mundie, Jr. and her brothers, Dean, Claude, Melvin and Aubrey “Tommy” Shifflett.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Ryan Funeral Home with Pastor John Boswell officiating.
Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Barboursville Baptist Church, PO Box 87 Barboursville, VA 22923.
