Michael James McCarthy

Michael James McCarthy, 72, of Rixeyville, Virginia, peacefully passed away on July 21, 2026, at his home in Rixeyville. There will be a celebration of life service on August 1, 2026, beginning at 2 p.m. at Little Fork Episcopal Church in Rixeyville, Virginia, 16461 Oak Shade Road, with burial following at Little Fork Burying Ground. There will be a reception following at 5 p.m. at The Country Club of Culpeper, 2100 Country Club Road, Culpeper, Virginia.

Michael will be greatly missed by a very large number of broken-hearted family and friends who greatly loved and admired him. Michael could never believe how beloved he was by so many people. That was the modest and unassuming person he was.
