Milton "Mick" Francis Carrier

July 18, 1952 — March 14, 2020

On March 14, 2020 Milton “Mick” Francis Carrier, Jr. traveled to heaven to be with his God and be with his God for eternity. He was proceeded by his father, Milton F.  Carrier, Sr.; his mother Margaret Carrier O’Meara, his step-father Bill O’Meara and his only sibling, a brother, William Carrier. 

Mick left behind a grieving widow, Roberta “Alex” Alexander Carrier. Mick and Alex enjoyed their first and only marriage for 44 years and had lived happily in Greene Count for 23 years. 

He was also survived by two brothers-in-law: Robert Ernest Alexander his wife, Brenda and their two daughters and a son; brother-in- law Arthur Almeday Alexander, his wife, Cathy and their son; and sister-in-law Charah Ruth Alexander Sabel and her daughter and her two sons.  

Mick was born on July 18, 1952 and was a native Virginia growing up in Newport News, went to Peninsula Catholic High School and found many ways to apply his warm heart to help people and met new friends. While he was working with the Boy Scouts, he earned his private pilot’s license and greatly loved time spent in the air.   

Mick earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Christopher Newport University and his Master’s in Hospital and Health Administration from Xavier University in Ohio.  Mick worked as an administration or assistant administrator for hospitals and nursing homes in Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia.  

His second career was in computer technology. He worked for Ryan Funeral Home in Ruckersville until he retired. Mick loved his God, family, friends and pets.  He felt at home in Greene County, was a member and volunteer for Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church.  He was also a member of the Greene County Lions Club. 

A Celebration of Mick’s life will be held, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church.

Refreshments will be served afterwards.
