Nancy Lee Tate

Nancy Lee Shifflett Tate, 76, of Charlottesville, Virginia passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022 at her home.

She was born August 10, 1946 in Greene County, Virginia, daughter of the late Herman Shifflett and Margaret Hailey (Conley) Shifflett.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Donald Tate Sr. and her brother Bill Shifflett.

Nancy is survived by her children, Donald P Tate Jr. (Freda), Joanne Leonard (Brandon), Teresa Shifflett, and Johnny Shifflett (Danielle); Siblings, Monty Shifflett, Rex Shifflett, Helen Morris, and Geraldine Shifflett; grandchildren, Jessica Leonard, Steven Leonard, Kenneth Tate, and Jennifer Lynn Tate; great grandchild, Rafe Alexander Leonard, and many other family members and friends.

The family will receive guests in celebration of Nancy’s life on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 6-8 pm at Ryan Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held the following day, Friday, July 8, 2022 at 3 pm at Holly Memorial Gardens.
