Noah Washington Roach, 77, of Barboursville, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026. He was born on April 11, 1948, in Albemarle County to the late Ray and Mary Ann Shifflett Roach.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Pat Roach.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving companion of 44 years, Betty May Riley; children, Sheila Chambers and Lawrence Riley, Jr.; siblings, Peggy "Susie” Collier (Charles) and Greg Roach; 4 grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Noah was a painter by trade and greatly enjoyed getting to know the people he worked for. He never met a stranger and took pride in hosting cookouts at his home, where everyone was always welcome. In his younger days, he loved attending bluegrass festivals and the Greene County Fair. He was Don Reno’s biggest fan, and Noah’s presence was more often than not accompanied by the sound of a banjo on his stereo. Noah also loved fishing, horseshoes, gardening, and canning. He adored his cat, whom he affectionately called Squirrel. He will be remembered for his animated and outgoing personality, his laughter, and his generosity.
