Odessa Shifflett Morris

Odessa Shifflett Morris went to be with our Lord and Savior August 11, 2018 with her family by her side.

She was the daughter of the late Warren and Addie Shifflett.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Aubrey Morris, Sr.; her sister, Anna Mae Shifflett; and her five brothers, Ras, Carl, Elwood, Hobart and Raymond.

Odessa is survived by her six children, Margaret Ann and her husband, Bobby Irving, Ernestine Racer and her husband, Shirley, Aubrey Morris, Jr. and his fiancée, Ann, Warren Morris and his wife, Louise, Milton Morris and his fiancée, Teresa and a daughter, Marilyn Denise Morris, who lived and cared for her mother throughout her illness; a dear friend, Trinie Breeden, who she loved and cared for as a daughter.

Also surviving are a brother-in-law, Olen Morris ; sister-in-law, Elna Collier; ten grandchildren, Robert Irving, Darrell and Heather Morris, Shane and Amanda Racer, April Davis, Dee Maddox and Jake Alston; two grandchildren she loved and helped to raise, Tony Morris-Cousins and Anthony Terry; six great grandchildren, Caleb, Ellieanna and Gatlin Morris, Lacie Rae Morris, Sierra Irving, and Zane Racer, whom she loved and cherished from the moment he was born; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Nortonsville Church of God, 1505 Simmons Gap Road, Dyke, VA with Pastors David Allison and Jay Temple officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service will be Mike Shifflett, Shane Racer, Kelvin Shifflett, Gary Morris, Carl Ray Shifllett, Darrell Morris, Rodney Shifflett and Olen Morris.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
