Patrick Leonard Mellott

Patrick Leonard Mellott of Free Union, VA went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Saturday, March 2, 2019.

Patrick was born on March 17, 1939 in Fair Oaks, PA to Foster and Edna Mellott. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Howard Mellott and sister, Dorothy (Mellott) Chester.

Patrick is survived by the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Dorothy Mellott of Free Union,VA; sister, MaryLou (Mellott) Wilson of New Castle, PA; sons and daughter-in-laws, Scott and Patty Mellott of Spotsylvania County, VA and Jack and Jenny Mellott of Albemarle County, VA; and five grandchildren.

Patrick was an U.S. Army veteran. He was employed by the A&P Corporation for 35 years and was pastor of the Free Union Church of the Brethren for 31 years. He was active in his community of Greene County, VA as a youth baseball coach and scout master.

On Sunday, March 17, 2019, the family will receive friends and family at 2PM, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 3PM at the Free Union Church of the Brethren, 4152 Free Union Road, Free Union, VA 22940. The church will be hosting a time of fellowship with a meal following the service for family and friends.

Patrick touched the lives of so many and will be missed by those who knew and loved him, especially his family.
