Raymond A. Durrer

Raymond A. Durrer, 82, of Ruckersville, Virginia passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2022.

Raymond was born August 24, 1939 in Charlottesville, Virginia, son of the late Henry Richard Durrer and Meta Wood Durrer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Edward Henry Durrer, Stuart Lee Durrer, John Richard Durrer, Lucian Minor Durrer, Dora Virginia Durrer and Marie Rowe.

He is survived by numerous nieces & nephews as well as great nieces & nephews

Raymond was a 1963 graduate of the University of Virginia.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in France during the Vietnam era and later served the Commonwealth of Virginia for 26 years as Probation and Parole Officer.   He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter who enjoyed travelling.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 8, 2022 at Holly Memorial Gardens, 3251 Seminole Trail Charlottesville, Virginia 22911.

The family would like to thank his special live in caregivers, Richard Wayne Durrer, Sr. and Catherine Brill Pritchett.  They would also like to thank Hospice of the Piedmont and especially, Kathy Ann Roach, Lisa Stone, Lee McDaniel, R.N. and Lauren Callahan.
