Rebecca Riner Lawson, affectionately known to most as Becky, 61, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. She was born on November 28, 1964.
Becky was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Thomas, and her son, Justin Michael Lawson.
Becky is survived by her children, Jeffery Lawson, Andrew Birckhead, and Haley Powell; grandchildren, Christian Lawson, Abigail Lawson, and Colton Lawson; brother, Ronnie Riner; sisters, Jean Harlow (Gary), Joyce Eppard, Sandy Riner (Al), Teresa Shifflett (Junior), and a very special sister Angel Velasquez (Jose) who stood faithfully by her side throughout her life and was a constant source of strength, stability, compassion and care; step-dad, James Thomas whom she loved and cherished always; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Becky was always full of life, making everyone around her laugh and feel loved. She was always the life of the party. She always had a place in her home, especially at the dinner table, for anyone.
She will be truly missed by everyone.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. A celebration of Becky’s life will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m.
Arrangements are entrusted to Batten Funeral Home of Ruckersville, Virginia.
