Richard Carl Yost

Richard Carl Yost, 87, of Ruckersville, VA passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born December 9, 1930 in Sidney, Ohio, son of the late Carl Henry Yost and Emma Behr Yost.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Louise Lahner Yost and his youngest son, Andrew Yost.

Richard is survived by his children, Katrina Yost Cometa, Bruce Yost and his wife Maria, Marcia Yost, Brian Yost and his wife Melanie, Brenda Yost Bowler and her husband Stan, Alan Yost and his wife Nancy, and Andy’s wife Lee Anne Yost; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many other family members and friends.

Richard proudly served his country in Korea as an Air Force Radar Technician. After his military service, he was employed by IBM where he retired after 38 years of service. He was also an enrolled agent with H & R Block for 21 years.

Richard cherished his Catholic communities in which he was very actively involved: St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Springfield, Virginia and Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church in Ruckersville, Virginia. He faithfully led his family to be Christ- centered and was devoted to his church and family.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail Ruckersville, VA 22968.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church with Father Michael Mugomba officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the interment.
