Robert James Farrell, 75, of Ruckersville passed away Friday, July 17, 2015.
Robert was born May 25, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the son of the late Harry Farrell and Sophia Bessan Farrell.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosita Halim Farrell; a brother, Raoul Farrell and his wife, Nancy; Nieces and Nephews, Michael Farrell and his wife, Samantha, Suzanne Farrell, Dana Schneider and her husband, Jeremy, Eric Farrell and his wife, Kacie, Steven Farrell and his wife, Meghan; Great Nieces and Nephews, Ryan, Ashley and Emily Farrell and Sylvia Schneider; his beloved dog, “Shirley”; and many other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Farrell and his sister-in-law, Roslyn Farrell.
Robert proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Cold War from 1959-1963. He spent seven years at Subic Bay, Philippines’ Naval Station as a DOD civilian servicing Navy systems during the Vietnam War. He was a retired Engineer with Northrup Grumman.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, Virginia. Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday, July 20, 2015 at Ryan Funeral Home.
